Documented Life - Week 13 (3/22)

Week 13 Challenge: Ask someone to draw on your page and then finish it.

My flap (or tip-in) for this week is a brown bag. I love the idea of being able to slip things in the bag as I go about my week so I needed to create a drawing surface rather than trying to draw on kraft. I saw this pattern on my underpaper* and it was speaking to me. I cut out a piece that would fit on top of my bag front.

*Underpaper is a paper that you put underneath your project to protect your surface. You wipe your brushes and stencils on it as you work creating a random work of yumminess.

My sister was visiting so I asked her to be my guest artist.

Ooh, a tree branch. I definitely have a thing for trees so this was an easy one!

I was going to draw the leaves and cut them out but my sister challenged me to use a punch. Yes, a neglected and never touched punch. I pulled it out and grabbed a piece of painted dictionary paper from my stash and started punching.

I drew in some twigs off the main branches and started adhering the leaves. I drew a little bird on painted text paper and put him on a branch.

Adding more pen lines, a wobbly frame and a quote finished it off.  I popped it on the bag and done. My favorite part is the leaves that hang past the frame. Fun!
