The Blank Page and How to Face It!
Art Challenge: Color Wheel
Journal Prompt: "I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn’t say any other way . . . “ - Georgia O’Keeffe
It happens to everyone. I know of no immunity. You are working on your journal and no matter what you do, you can't pull it out of the toilet.
I am a big proponent of "Just Keep Going". Almost always you can turn it around and make it all better. But every once in a while...
Art knocks you down in the dirt and laughs in your face.
Then the doubts start making fun of your choices, your abilities and says your hair is ugly too.
When you come back, you channel that frustration into a page about SOME DAYS. And you show it who is boss.
Welcome to SOME DAYS.
The background is painted using Dina Wakley paints and a brayer. Over that I sprayed Dylusions ink through a stencil. I sketched the forlorn face in Stabilo pencil and then went over it with a waterbrush to darken the lines.
I used Rae Missigman's Natural Elements triangle stamp with black ink. Added borders and journaling.
