Art Challenge: Photographs & Memories
Journal Prompt:  "All that I have to remember you"-Jim Croce

Remembering a loved one that has passed away can be a tricky thing. I wanted this page to stay as far away from maudlin as possible. I wanted fun and quirky. My subject is my dad and not having him in my life can still reduce me to tears. So fun seemed like a better way to handle this.

I have some treasured photos of Dad in his later years and I wanted them to be like the photos in my mind. Not crisp and clear but more like a beloved teddy bear, a bit threadbare and greatly loved. I used the transfer technique that Lorraine used in this challenge and it was perfect for a faded look. If you want crisp, especially with faces this is NOT the method for you.

I added lines for quirky journaling and recorded some of the things that I associate with my dad.

I added some doodling at the bottom that was definitely inspired by the stunningly beautiful adult coloring book that I just got from Amazon. I love love love it.

And now I am calling it done and heading off to color!
