Art Challenge: Using Old Maps, Letters, Tickets & More
Journal Prompt:  Life...with a history

June was such an awesome month of challenges and this month flows seamlessly into the travel theme or can be a form of documenting the every day. Whichever you chose I hope you will join in on the conversation going on in the Academy.  Stories are being told and experiences shared. I LOVE that!

Ephemera -  paper items (as posters, brochures, and tickets) that were originally meant to be discarded after use but have since become collectibles or memorable

An art brochure from vacation with beautiful images and a small map seemed like the perfect ephemera for this challenge.

I cut out the photos and then cut circle shapes from the small map on the reverse side and put these aside.

I pulled out Dylusions paints in Lemon Zest, Cut Grass & Squeezed Orange and applied with a baby wipe.

Quick 2 minute background

Elements adhered with a Uhu glue stick.

I started playing. Art to the 5th Art Fusion stamps added lots of interest and color. Some journaling with a white pen and some white paint to soften edges of the ephemera.

Next Rae Missigman's Happenstance stencils add more interest. (That triangle and circles stencil is my favorite of her background stencils - total love) I added some stabilo shading around the elements. It is a must have for me.

I doodled, I played, I had fun with lines, circles and dashes. I added all kinds of embellishment to that giant flower created with Art Fusion stamps. The center is the flower stamp in the set and then you add petals to make it any size you want because you are the boss! Don'tcha love it when you are the boss?!

and this I am calling DONE-
