During the pandemic, Sandi and Rae rediscovered their love of slow stitching or modern embroidery. The choosing of a color palette, the adding texture and interest with marks and the rhythmic movements of piercing fabric with gorgeous color was so soothing and familiar in many ways. After completing several store bought patterns, they knew that they could design patterns that were art based and allowed the freedom to express their distinct art styles. Rae chose to add marks and embellishments outside of the pattern to make each piece unique and lush. Sandi chose to alter the pattern by altering the expression of the elements - leaves to berries, pods and line drawings and blending colors on the cloth. That is when they knew they could never go back to traditional embroidery patterns and began to create their own line of Art Threads.

Each pattern includes their unique stitched interpretations of the pattern to inspire you to let go and express your creative style. As artists, they knew these beautiful patterns (line drawings) were valuable in more applications, so they transferred the pattern onto art mediums and reimagined them as pieces of art. Their reimaginings are also included to encourage your creativity in artful form.
